Thanks for sharing this... Fascinating. I got to think that one of the unintended benefits of AI is it going to allow artists like yourself to be much more multimodal. I got to believe we're really close to the point where you're going to be able to easily flow between human drawing and your digital input devices.
Who is your favorite inker in the world of comics? Mine is probably the late Dick Giordano, which is undoubtedly the result of growing up reading a lot of "bronze age" DC superhero comics. After a while, even as a young reader, you get a sense of which inkers really improves on the original material.
I had a childhood friend that shared my interests in comics and drawing. We made some comics together, where he did the sketches and I inked them. But it was he who had the real talent. Later I realized that my inking was too "perfect" and sterile, and it subtracted from the original instead of adding something to it. Many years later he won Eisner Awards. He now lives in France and still draws comics, and we still keep in touch. 😊
Pencillers (which is what I normally am) get all the credit, but I think Inkers are in some ways more important for evaluation of artistic merit. The penciller is the one responsible for storytelling. When I buy original art, I care about the inker more than the penciller.
Here are some of my favorites:
1) Frank Frazetta
2) Berni Wrightson
3) Carl Barks
4) Harvey Kurtzman (amazing)
5) Bill Elder
6) John Byrne (starting around the time he started doing Wonder Woman)
7) Mike Royer
8) George Roussos (not well-liked by most Kirby fans, but I like his energy)
9) Karl Jansen (on JRJR, fantastic)
10) Walt Simonsin
11) C.C. Beck
12) Johnny Craig
Dick Giordano isn't among my favorites, but I do think he is good.
These are awesome. Both the quick drawn and color added detailed roughs!
I like adding color to my voter data. I feel it highlights attention areas that I miss when you zoom out. But, I think the SQL Geniuses hate the color. Maybe they needed a new column to represent RGB (Hex color) so SQL can search by color (jokingly).
I even went as far as programming Python to create my spreadsheet with color to the row/column. Crudely of course!
On another note... I think the FBI or other agencies that should have been researching Voter Fraud, should do some of our tasks/jobs for a year or more. Pay us back for doing their job.
I'm sure my special agent Melvin won't appreciate my saying this!
I agree with you there. I've been paid for a minority of the work I've done, but not much. Wisconsin is a freebie for instance, but the impact is worth more than a few FBI salaries.
What an adventure! Thank you. I hope your headache goes away soon. And, I am stunned about 54 million records. Ugh.

Interesting list. Many I know, and I have to research the ones that I'm not so familiar with. 😊
