This is a gratuitous post, but I finally had a chance to make a drawing I’ve been wanting to make for years: pouring rain seen from inside a car. Almost every time I find myself driving through a downpour, I wish I could pull over and draw it, to get a sense of what rain hitting the windshield really feels like to the driver. Photographs never seem to capture the mood.
Today, I finally had the chance. While driving through a pretty severe storm with my wife, watching lightning bolts falling to the left and right, sometimes right in front of us, I was thinking, “dang it! Here it is again and there isn’t a place to pull over.”
My wife thought we should turn around, but there wasn’t a place to do that either, thanks to heavy rush hour traffic. We finally came to a grocery store and I pulled in. As fast as I could, I whipped out my sketchbook and started drawing. The first drawing didn’t come out the way I wanted, so this is the second.
Now for the real news
I first heard about this a few days ago, but it was only made public today by Peter Bernegger, in Wisconsin. Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon just called out Wisconsin election officials with a letter notifying them they are out of compliance with federal election law. As of now, the money spigot is off, and they are expected to be in compliance ASAP. This isn’t the end game, but the first step. Still, it’s the first such first step in the country, and a very good sign.
Here is the letter:
More to come!
Your rain illustration is wonderful! It looks incredibly hard to draw.
Thank you for the WI news. Finally, a step forward as we wonder what will happen next with Mike Lindell's trial and Tina Peters release to prepare for her case's review. Gosh, are we going to get this all rolling before candidates start campaigning for the midterms?
Hopefully arrests of election officials who allowed or facilitated fraud to follow or maybe set expectations to just the usual strongly worded letters instead of being disappointed
