In 1979, my mom forced me to sell my comic book collection. She wanted the money to pay for a move to Las Vegas. I didn’t want to sell, and I didn’t want to give her the money, but did both. Ever since, I’ve been trying to recover that collection.
Many of the comics are too valuable to ever get back. One, a near mint copy of Fantastic Four #5 is currently worth about a quarter of a million dollars. However, providing the condition isn’t that great and the issue isn’t that spectacular, I have been able to scrape together about twenty percent of my former collection over the years.
Today, I’d like to share some of those comics as a commentary on recent years past, and hope for 2025.
Who doesn’t recognize in these two images the DC swamp and government violation of privacy rights? When I watch senators and congressmen of both parties work together to achieve the same criminal and criminally dangerous goals, I think of “IT, THE THING THAT COULDN’T DIE!” Of course, we all know that our swamp creature can and will die, but for now, it is still living, though struggling mightily.
The way J6 protestors were tracked down, conservative commentators were deplatformed, the vaccine mandate was pushed on everyone, and even smaller things like hiding Joe Biden’s dementia and promoting Kamala Harris as a proven leader, all bore the fingerprints of “THE HAND FROM BEYOND”. Big Brother, doing it’s best to control us from afar, and frightening us out of our wits at the same time. Not a good thing.
Heroes from the Green Lantern corps, gagged and physically restrained to eliminate any chance of a fair trial, are found “GUILTY!” Who among us doesn’t think of the horrendous treatment of J6 protestors when they see this image? It’s all I can think of. I think of the injustice visited upon those thousands of people almost every day since I became aware of it over 3 years ago. It is something that every American should be ashamed of, that our country has sunk so low. I look forward to this particular crime being righted within the next few weeks. I hope there are ticker tape parades for those men and women after they are freed. Fancy hotels, fine food, apologies, medals, and large cash settlements for their pain and suffering are the least they should expect.
Conservatives and, dare I say it “normal people” around the world have been under attack for decades by evil forces. Only in the past few years did our opponents show themselves. This, and the growing realization of the danger they posed, reminded us that some foes cannot be appeased. They must be defeated.
The forces of good had their “AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!” moment, got together, and marched up “MASSACRE MOUNTAIN” to battle it out in the 2024 elections. Some of those battles were lost, but the important ones were won, Trump is president again, and we’ll soon see how many of the down ballot races were actually “lost.” I suspect it wasn’t all of them.
The people we know as heroes are described that way because they selflessly helped others in circumstances dangerous to themselves. President Trump has clearly demonstrated that he is one of these. Not just a successful businessman and entertainer, he has gone well beyond that with all the sacrifices he has made for the American people. With him are many others: Elon Musk, Mike Lindell, General Mike Flynn, RFK Jr, Kari Lake, and hundreds of others at all levels, in government and without.
Sometimes, the people have to stand up for their rights. When they do (and they are), the evil can be defeated because “JUSTICE TRAPS THE GUILTY.” It’s a matter of time, but that time is now. We aren’t fooled by Republican and Democrat labels any more, “ONE OF YOU IS GUILTY AND THE LAW WILL TRAP YOU.”
“TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE,” you stood up for yourselves and were counted in 2024. It made a great difference. Advice for the bad guys: “THAT BROKEN OLD MAN MAY BE YOU SOMEDAY.” Repent now, confess your sins, and sin no more. The only reward for injustice is something you lack the stomach to face. Don’t fool yourself into thinking your schemes can prevail. Though that may be true for a time, it will always be found out. The later that happens, the more harm is caused, and the greater the penalty exacted from the perpetrators.
One thing I enjoy about romance comics from the forties and fifties is that they are full of responsible young adults learning the virtue of good behavior. Every issue is chock full of cautionary tales and the blessings of honesty, integrity, hard work, and respect for others. This is the direction I see our country moving toward in 2025.
The “PLANET OF PLUNDER” was an alien world known throughout the galaxy for their riches. It was acquired by hypnotizing crews of passing starships. The pilots obeyed hypnotic commands by landing on the planet and leaving behind all their cargo. They traveled on to their destination with empty holds. No one knew where the money had gone, much like Ukraine.
Then, one man broke the alien’s hypnotic hold and defeated their evil plans. Before long, the planets who had been robbed, were looking for their “FROZEN GOLD” and they found it. Their fortunes were restored, and everyone was happy again.
What do you see in our future? I am expecting good things for 2025.
Happy New year!
All of those comic book covers work "to draw you into" their stories. We need that back instead of the constant hammering of tacks on our brains of a picture and a headline. Sometimes going beyond the headine is so disappointing. You can almost feel the "get it out" pressure from the "journalists". The pace is being controlled by the Bad Guys.
Make Comic Books Great Again! You are a complex person with an extraordinary gift for communicating. I wish you the best along with the suit and shoes for all your 2025 meetings.
