I just wrote a quick article on my other substack about a time in my life when I needed help, and got it, thanks to prayer. It wasn’t the first time I’ve seen a prayer realized and won’t be the last.
A funny thing about prayer is that some people don’t believe it can work. I was one of those people until I had a prayer answered right in front of my eyes. I wasn’t even sure it made any sense. I was just thinking, “I’ve tried everything else, I might as well try that too.”
There seems to be a trick to doing it right. This is because it doesn’t always turn out the way you expect. I once prayed that I would have plenty of time to paint landscapes in the woods. I then had a dream where God literally said he had answered my prayer and I would have the time to paint. The next day, I was laid off. Without a job, I had the time to paint, and did.
Other times, nothing happens. I don’t know why they don’t always work out, but prayer does work on other occasions, and in such a way that they cannot be simple coincidence.
This is important because Americans today are facing serious crises created by an evil out of control government. They are the kind of huge crises that inspire me to prayer. This is because I don’t see any way to save American citizens from the enemy we now face without the help of God. The threat is too great and the enemy too powerful for us to deal with on our own.
Mike Lindell has done everything in his power to help Americans by pursuing election fraud investigations and lawsuits. For his efforts, he has been attacked relentlessly with bad faith lawsuits and sniping from others in the election integrity movement. Lindell is not only doing everything he can to effect positive improvements, he is also praying. I respect that. He has, or had, more resources than most of us, and knows it isn’t enough.
Alex Jones strikes me as the kind of man who prays. He is feisty and sometimes too strident for my taste, but one thing I do not doubt: he cares. He cares, and he prays. He has seen success, and has been attacked relentlessly for his views. He isn’t always right, and on Sandy Hook, he was wrong, but the punishment, a billion dollar fine, did not fit the offense at all. It was the kind of exaggerated reaction that can only come from a runaway and lawless government.
Donald Trump prays, and he has been attacked like no other former president in history. 91 charges in 4 indictments have been filed against him. Every case is meritless, filed purely to harass and cause harm to Trump.
Why do we pray when the only visible reward is hostility? One thing I am sure of, the opponents of Lindell, Jones, and Trump do not pray. Only evil people would be willing to pervert the law as they have done, to serve malicious ends. They don’t believe in prayer and would likely sneer at the naiveté of anyone who does.
The reason we pray is that we must be humble before God and ask for what we need. It is the only way, even if the answer is unexpected. Prayers do get answered, else how would Trump have become president in 2016, or Elon Musk the new owner of Twitter?
I pray that truth is restored to the world, what do you pray for?
Hey, Andrew, I just listened to Marly's interview with Steve from Mill Creek, TN. I've been on your list for a while, and am on an election integrity working group on WA State for about a year. Steve seemed to be infatuated with WA State election fraud and crime.
I also tried your topographical puzzle last night. Looking forward to the answer key. It took me about 25 mins. We'll see if I get any right. =)
I pray. Sometimes a lot. Sometimes short and hot. I've learned praying involves asking questions. And listening. That can be jarring.
Prayers were a primary thing for public policy models in the Bible. Moses. Samuel. David. Solomon. Daniel. Mordecai. Paul of Tarsus was commissioned to speak in the courts.
Thanks for your service.
I've felt the "flip side" of prayer as well and often speak of it in church!

I was prompted by a small voice in my mind, three times, to stop and help a motorist with 2 kids... Broken down on the side of the road. I had to turn around to do this!
Later, I realized! Maybe that person prayed for help. God used me to be that answer. The right person at the right moment. It probably looked like a miracle to them, as I knew the problem and had the car running in about 1 minutes!
Today, I don't see that as "my actions" but rather see that as God's actions. Because the first two promptings, I'd convinced myself not to stop!
