The last four years have been like an uncontrollable and unending fall through filth, depravity, and malice. Our past and expected future President Trump is the means by which that fall can be arrested and reversed. We will emerge into daylight once more, free to fill our days with purpose and meaning.
I spent at least half of yesterday thinking about photos I wanted to take after things return to normal. It was a welcome respite to be thinking about something I enjoy doing for a change. After a little rummaging around, I found the photo above, which I took before I started looking into Ohio’s rolls. At the time, Biden hadn’t been removed from the ticket yet, and people were still making “Let’s Go, Brandon” signs, like the one in the picture.
Looking at it now reminds me that everything eventually gets set aside as new things take their place. Yet of all things, our soul endures. Anything that happens to our bodies or material possessions is no worse than the way all things must end, all but our immortal soul. This is why we must never give in to any temptation that would harm it. The quality of our decisions can improve or degrade our soul, so those decisions must be as consistent with God’s expectations as we can make them.
To do otherwise is to recreate, or even to worsen, the four years we’ve just lived through, or the evils suffered by the populations of communist countries for decades. Electing Donald Trump is an important first step, and I have no doubt he will follow through on his promise to Make America Great Again. However, he can only do his part.
To restore America, Americans must restore themselves as well. No more complacency in the face of unwanted and immoral entertainments, no more cowardice in the face of threats, no more abdication of our responsibilities for the sake of convenience. No more ignorance of what sin is, so that we may avoid it.
Yesterday, I imagined a months-long tour of the country, with a couple of strong photo assistants and a producer, setting up shoots everywhere to capture the mood of a country as it regained its moral footing and became again what it once was, unburdened by the horrors of the recent past*. It was great to think about such a project, particularly since I haven’t allowed myself to think about such things in a long time.
My mind has been fixed on the task of rooting out deception, and unravelling it to find the truth. It is a tiring exercise. I will be glad when it is over and my real life can resume. May God bless our country by returning President Trump to us, so the rest of us can be free to do our part without interference from the evil forces that have so recently (and still) cast a shadow over our country.
The source of all wisdom is not CNN, or a fancy pants university, or even our representatives who style themselves as “leaders.” It is something simpler and more accessible than that, our God who art in heaven. I pray we never forget this fact again.
*These words inspired by Kamala Harris, and Marx before her. Slightly modified.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Truth. I head to vote at 6am here in Arizona with hope. May God show mercy on the United States.
