A long time ago, on June 4, 1990, in a galaxy far removed from our own, I had a dream. (Hence, the “far off galaxy”). In the dream, which was extraordinarily vivid, I was shown the entire earth. On it was a city ruined by war. Literally in ruins.
During the intervening 35 years, several cities have been “ruined by war”, from Serbia to Ukraine to Gaza, and probably several others. I’m not mentioning this because I want to figure out which city I was dreaming about or if the dream was “true” in some way. The reason is that I think of the dream every once in a while because the image itself: a galactic perspective of a ruined city on a planet far below, is interesting on its own.
I’ve been reminded of the dream in recent days by events in the Middle East. Israel attacked Iran, Iran retaliated, missiles are flying back and forth, people are being killed, and things are getting broken. I don’t blame Israel. Iran has been shouting “Death to Israel” for almost as long as I’ve been alive. They’ve funded terrorists with the express purpose of either destroying Israel or at least hurting them by killing some Israelis.
Iran supposedly supported the despicable and quite unholy October 7th attack on Israel a few years ago. I don’t see any reason to doubt reports on that. It would be like doubting that the shark who ate 15 beachgoers also took a bite out of a 16th.
If Iran only exists to destroy Israel, and Israel must exist (as we are told in our Torahs and Bibles), then Israel must defend itself, even if that means destroying Iran. Iran, I note, has no sacred claim to perpetuity, unlike Israel. However, Israel has a different goal. Based on the careful structure of their attacks in Iran and elsewhere, it is probable that their goal is to destroy their enemies in Iran only, not the people of Iran. The irony is that their attacks may lead to freeing the people of Iran from the tyranny of the mullahs.
The way I see it, Israel can’t be destroyed, therefore Iran must lose. That’s just the way it is. The sooner the people of Iran realize that, the better off they will be.
Not too far away is another war, between Ukraine and Russia. Looked at another way, Globalists (Ukraine) vs anti-globalists (Russia).
I’ve always thought of communism as 100% evil because at its heart, communism is the ultimate in atheistic reverse-Creationism: mankind is superior to everything, so man controls everything. It is like a VR game: it looks real to those who believe it, but the reality is they are all running off cliffs.
Russia became communist in 1917. Communism is evil, ergo, Russia is evil. That is how I have viewed Russia for most of my life. But that is like assuming that the green light you just passed while driving will remain green forever. Sometimes, the links in our chain of logic break before we reach the end of our train of thought. That seems to have occurred in Russia. No matter the evil that was once done in Russia in the name of communism, no matter that it is still thought of as a communist country, and regardless of the specific role Vladimir Putin may have played in that past evil, today, things seem different.
When I watch Putin’s speeches and read the subtitled translations, I am impressed by how sensible they are. Not only that, but sensible on subjects where his opponents have taken the looniest alternative positions available. Tucker Carlson interviewed Putin a year ago, and he sounded far more reasonable than his opponent in arms, the “pianist” Vlodomyr Zelenskyy.
Unlike Israel’s inevitable survival, the death of communism and its rebranded modern incarnation, globalism, is something that must be fought with no guarantee of victory beyond hope and faith in our mutual creator, the one true God of heaven and earth.
This brings us to America, the raging fury of lethal insanity known here as “progressivism” and all its related movements. Each is a limb of the same seven-headed monster: Hamas supporters, illegal alien supporters, plain old criminals, liberals, socialists/communists, LGBTQ-aphoria, and so on. Tolerance of these things is like tolerance of cancer: it leads to death, not true happiness. For the same reason chemo and radiation therapy is applied to cancer (to kill it dead), progressive movements cannot be tolerated.
What would happen to Israel if they tolerated Iran’s wish to destroy Israel? Israel would be destroyed. What would happen if Russia acquiesced to globalist demands? They would become members of the EU and eventually lose their Russian identity. And what happens to America if we tolerate progressivism? We become communist, and communism is evil, thus we become evil, and evil damns us all to hell.
When I saw Democrat Alex Padilla shoved out of a Kristi Noem press conference and handcuffed, I thought “Yay! No tolerance for progressive antics and bullying!” Then, when he was unhandcuffed and charges weren’t pressed, and Noem met with him for fifteen minutes in a “nice chat” I thought, “No! We’re giving them an inch! That’s what they want!”
My opinion: they can’t have my stuff and they have to give back everything they’ve taken. Otherwise, we will find ourselves in the same position Israel and Russia are in now, and sooner than we think.
This means the LGBTQ material is thoroughly erased from our culture. It means our government goes back to doing its job and stops serving as a money launderer, turning tax dollars into subsidies for criminals and bums around the world, criminals go to jail and stay there, illegal immigrants are forcibly removed from our country, communist agitators become pariahs and lose their influence, and honest people are free to speak their mind without prior restraint or fear of legal consequence. Above all else, we remember God our creator, and that serving Him is the only true path to Peace on Earth.
Amen.
PS: For those who are curious, here is a link to the dream mentioned at the start of this article, but on my other substack.
You get to the point much quicker than most, with regard to the relationship of communism and globalism. And yes, it is evil.
I wore my "DeSantis Airlines - Bringing the Border to You" tee-shirt today. It was coincidental (to the planned protests), given the shorts I was going to wear and the need for a light tee shirt as I worked in the yard. Don't know if it was too subtle after going out to breakfast and the grocery store while wearing it as well.
I ran into a few people wearing masks in the store and was secretly hoping they'd get in line behind me, but alas, they beat me to the register.
But then again, it might have been a little too subtle.
Thank you for the work you do Andrew! From this post and others... you have a spiritual gift. I hope you develop it further.
