In case anyone wonders why there isn’t an illustration for this post or the last, it’s because my computer’s main drive failed last Thursday. The replacement is supposed to arrive today, a 4TB SSD. I hope it does. Without the computer, the only thing I can do is go outside and tolerate the excellent weather from my pool.
I had to finish the drawings for the comic on paper, but can’t color them without the computer, so that job is on hold until my machine is working again. In the meantime, I can post with my iPad, though editing on this is not easy. Meaning, longer posts, and my apologies for that.
Like many others, I watched the Trump/Biden debate. I wasn’t curious about Trump’s performance, but was very curious how bad Biden would look. I wondered if drugs, isolation, practice, rest, and maybe a protein bar would be enough to overcome Biden’s obviously declining condition. It wasn’t.
I wrote about this before, but can’t link to it easily on the iPad. At the time, and this was months ago, I was unsure whether Biden would be alive on Election Day. This is because every person I’ve known who developed advanced dementia died within a year. Biden had already beaten those odds by surviving for over three years with the condition, but he’s had a lot of help.
We know this. Conservatives have watched aghast as Biden continually does things on camera that demonstrate how bad his condition is. The fact that his handlers allow this to happen, and enable it, is horrifying. It’s like watching a 1930’s horror movie starring Bela Lugosi as Biden Frankenstein.
I have a Democrat friend who supports Biden. He writes a blog post, sometimes several, almost every day. Often, they are about Trump or Biden, though his blog is primarily about Hollywood history. My friend, Mark, knows a lot about Hollywood because he’s been a writer and producer there since the 1970’s. He’s friends with seemingly every actor you can think of, from Bob Hope to Bob Newhart, Dick van Dyke, and hundreds of actors you’ve never heard of.
This gives him an inside track on understanding Hollywood, but it also requires strong liberal/progressive credentials, which Mark has. Mark also seems to be a good person. As far as I can tell, he is honest, kind, generous, and even thoughtful. He is also intelligent and worldly-wise. And yet, when he writes about politics, he gets everything wrong. At least, that is how it looks to me.
Put another way, when I have taken the trouble to research some of the political subjects he has written about, he is definitely wrong. I assume he is wrong about the rest because the nature of the information matches the style of the material I know is wrong.
The easiest way to describe the difference is that he will repeat seemingly any slander against Trump uncritically as if true, and then critically and unfairly review any praise of Trump with Democrat talking points. Put simply, he is happy to rely on the mainstream press as his sole source for information.
This is why I was curious how Mark would respond to the debate. After almost four years of non-stop praise for Biden, and scorn for anyone who suggests Biden might have dementia, Mark would be able to see an unedited version of Biden for a full 90 minutes. He’s known people who had dementia, and he’s honest enough to recognize it. What would he say?
In his first substantive article after the debate, Mark admitted that Biden looked terrible. He then tried to soften the blow by asking whether he was like that just for the one night, due to exhausting preparation, or if he was like that all the time. In a later article, he said he’d prefer a Biden corpse over Trump.
My guess is that Mark recognized the dementia and didn’t want to admit to himself it was as bad as it seemed, as if this was the first hint of it. This is because the media told him for the last three and a half years that Biden was fine. So from Mark’s perspective, this is the start of Biden’s decline, not the end. And yet, he knows it does end in death, hence his later post about a Biden corpse.
It is amazing how thoroughly invested people become in the lies they have been told. It is disappointing, but what can be done? The vast brainwashed masses may be the biggest obstacle we have to restoring our Constitutional Republic, the rule of law, and a return to moral normalcy.
Somehow, we have to help reveal the lies and restore the truth.
CNN realized they had a motive to show their viewers Biden’s dementia: to replace him with a more convincing candidate. They controlled the reveal in such a way that as the one lie was partly exposed, another is ready to take its place. That control has to be taken away. Somehow, we have to break through the left’s propaganda.
Sometimes, I think that is more important than anything else, because that is the source of the left’s power, their stranglehold on mass media, and through it, the minds of their viewers.
Democrats need to embrace Joe Biden for who he can be, unburdened by who he has been.
Whoever has been running the country with Joe as a teleprompter reading figurehead will continue to do so until Donald Trump is hopefully elected in a landslide and takes office on 1/20/25.
Art, after a conversation with a family member yesterday I believe there is no chance ever to convince dems/libs/Biden supporters of the damage he is doing to the USA and the damage that will be done in the future. I also believe this stems from the 1973 roe v wade case , when you can convince “ normal” humans that taking a life is not murder but a “ woman’s choice” they have warped their moral compasses so badly that they can convince themselves of anything tied to abortion. DJT , the SC , DJT supporters are all responsible for taking away their “ woman s choice” and must be punished.
